Fintech Ripple gets $40 billion valuation after $500 million funding 

Ripple, the digital asset and blockchain infrastructure firm behind the cryptocurrency XRP, has raised $500 million in new funding pushing its valuation to $40 billion.

The round was led by major institutional investors, including Fortress Investment Group, Citadel Securities, Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, Brevan Howard, and Marshall Wace. Ripple said the move strengthens strategic ties with top financial partners as the company continues a “record year of growth.”

Expanding Beyond Payments

Originally founded in 2012 to revolutionize cross-border payments through blockchain technology, Ripple has since diversified its business model. The company now operates across crypto asset custody, prime brokerage, and corporate treasury management.

In the past two years alone, Ripple has completed six acquisitions, including the purchase of Rail, an enterprise-focused stablecoin platform. The company also launched its own U.S. dollar–backed stablecoin, expanding its reach into the broader digital payments and asset management ecosystem.

Favorable U.S. Crypto Environment

Ripple’s fundraising follows what many in the industry see as a more crypto-friendly U.S. regulatory climate, fueled by the election of President Donald Trump and the passage of the GENIUS Act, a landmark law governing stablecoins.

Despite recent market volatility with Bitcoin dipping below $100,000 for the first time since June Ripple’s continued expansion underscores institutional confidence in blockchain-driven financial infrastructure.
