Riemann Hypothesis: A Mathematical Problem with a $1 Million Prize

The Riemann Hypothesis was formulated by German mathematician Bernhard Riemann in 1859 and is over 160 years old. It is known for its simple form, but it is one of the seven most difficult mathematical problems to solve today. It concerns the distribution of prime numbers.

To date, no mathematician has been able to find a solution to this conjecture. Therefore, the Clay Mathematics Institute has designated the Riemann Hypothesis as one of its seven "Millennium Prize Problems".

To encourage research, the Clay Mathematics Institute has offered a $1,000,000 (one million dollars) prize to anyone who can find the correct solution and acknowledge the conjecture. Each of the seven Millennium Problems carries a $1 million prize.
